Tourist Tax
Any applicable Croatian tourist tax is the responsibility of the Yacht Owner. Skills Questionnaire
Each student must complete a short skills questionnaire before the course. This helps your instructor understand your experience, training goals and areas you would like to improve. Your training remains flexible and can be adapted throughout your time onboard. Instructor Meals
The Yacht Owner is responsible for the instructor's meals during the course, including breakfast, lunch and dinner.
This can be by providing food onboard or covering the instructor's meal when the crew eats ashore together. Tips & Gratuities – CroatiaYour instructor does not expect a tip. However, after your course and final debrief have been completed, you are welcome to leave a gratuity if you particularly enjoyed your training.
When dining out or visiting bars and cafés in Croatia, tipping for good service is customary but optional. A gratuity of around 10–15% is commonly given for good service.

Hire your own private RYA Instructor for personalised training onboard your own sailing yacht.
Choose a recognised RYA Practical Course or tailor the training to your own requirements.
Whether you want to build confidence with a new yacht, refresh previous training, improve specific sailing skills, or complete an RYA Practical Course with your own crew, the training can be adapted to you.
What Type of Training Can I Take?
Your training can follow a specific RYA syllabus or be tailored to your individual requirements.
Perhaps you have recently purchased a yacht and want professional guidance onboard, or you completed your Day Skipper or Coastal Skipper some time ago and want to refresh particular skills.
Before your course, we'll send you a short questionnaire covering what you would like to achieve and any areas you feel less confident with.
This gives your instructor an initial training plan, which can be adapted throughout your time onboard.
What Can Your RYA Instructor Teach?
Choose a specific RYA course or create a flexible training programme focused on the skills you want to improve.
RYA Courses Available:
- RYA Competent Crew Practical
- RYA Day Skipper Practical*
- RYA Coastal Skipper Practical*
- Tailored Skills Training
*RYA Day Skipper and Coastal Skipper students cannot be combined on the same practical course.
Maximum 5 students onboard for RYA Practical Courses.
Required Equipment Onboard
Your yacht must have the appropriate safety, navigation and sailing equipment onboard for the course or training being undertaken.
